Cambiare
"All Reality is but an Illusion waiting to be shaped by those who can truly see."

The Cambiare was originally founded in Salceny. Since the inception of the Royal College of Andrynn, however, this school has gained popularity throughout the known world. The magic of the Cambiare is based upon the belief that reality is a very complex illusion that most of the world cannot pierce. Those who are enlightened enough to comprehend the existence of this great mirage can learn to manipulate it to their own advantage. Members of this society can sometimes be extremely elitist; referring to themselves as The Illuminated. Outsiders sometimes view the Cambiare with suspicion due to the secrecy with which they shroud their magics and knowledge.

In the early days of the Cambiare, the government of Salceny feared their existence and members were often accused of various heinous crimes. To protect themselves, the members took to donning masks when pursuing the business of the Cambiare. Though no longer persecuted, the mask has become a mystical symbol to this order. Many protective spells must be cast upon masks. New initiates to the society are required to craft a mask that reveals their truest self. This item becomes quite precious to the mage and it is even rumored that they cannot cast any magic if the Mask of their Spirit is destroyed.

Rules: Mages of this school rely upon a focus, also known as the Mask of the Spirit. In addition, casters utilize the Naming because they believe words are an excellent method of weaving illusions.

Meditation: Meditation for a Cambiare mage requires concentrating upon the Mask of the Spirit. The mage must hold his mask in his hands and trace the patterns of the mask with one hand. This action represents drawing the forces of their magic into the mask and confining it within the patterns of the mask thereby allowing the mage to successfully cast an Enchantment. After the meditation, the mask should be put on during the recitation of the verbal.
