The scientific approach is gaining a rapid foothold across all nations, and wealthy nobility are becoming interested in funding various experiements.Knowledge and learning is treasured across nearly all cultures, and the existance of the Royal College of Andrynn has brought together scientists, philosophers, thinkers and magicians in a way unheard of in the past. This cauldron of intellectuals promises to produce facinating advances in the times to come.
GunsFirearms represent a pinnacle of technology in this age of discovery. While experiments with them continue, a plateau of sorts seems to confront would-be inventors. All manner of creative adaptations and improvements seem stymied by the limits of other current sciences. A few suggest that the answers to these problems could lay in the knowledge of the ancients, but others dismiss such fanciful sciences as myth.Unlike the springs, bows and strings used to propel other projectile weapons, firearms employ a curious, blood red powder called Rouge. Ignited by a striker the combustion of Rouge propels shot with tremendous force at high speeds. This apothecarial process produces a surprisingly small amount of noise and smoke, making the use of a firearm on par with the normal din of combat. A recent and highly secretive advance from Salceny has made the production of cannons possible.
